| | May 28, 1903, marked the start of a great American manufacturing story when The Ideal Electric & Manufacturing Company was founded inside of a converted carriage house in Mansfield, Ohio. At the time, who would have guessed IDEAL would grow into the globally recognized leader in specialty electric motors and generators it has become with thousands of machines running the world over.
Today, we celebrate 118 years of IDEAL ELECTRIC, once again under private, independent ownership, and over 100 years of our historic Ohio Works. We also celebrate all the individuals, engineers, craftspeople, suppliers, and our customers whose contributions over the years created cutting-edge technology, our industrious American work ethic, and demanding projects that lead to IDEAL'S industry-leading high-quality manufacturing. | | | MAY 25 | | | That's right! Every detail is #IDEAL down to our best-in-class paint process required for our machinery to be factory-certified fresh and ready to ship to our customers. The cleanest and fastest method to remove paint from machinery is to grind or sand it which is one of the many steps in the IDEAL standard #paintsystem. Our highly knowledgeable craftspeople are trained to meticulously remove any rust or other surface pollution prior to painting in one of our state-of-the-art, large-scale booths. Need a higher-spec? | | | MAY 21 | | | Once again, IDEAL machines prove they're BUILT TO LAST! In the mid-1970s, a local specialty metal mill purchased four 1250 HP, 900 RPM #IDEAL polyphase induction motors. Three of the units were immediately put into service, while the fourth was stored as a spare. 46 years later, the time has come for that "new" spare to couple up and become one of the main drivers allowing the well-worked originals to return home for a GENUINE IDEAL upgrade! As one of the largest silicon metal and alloys producers in the world, this customer demands high-quality, long-lasting #machinery to match their high-quality consumer products, and this is why they prefer IDEAL ELECTRIC. | | | MAY 19 | | | When a steam #cogen operator on the west coast wanted to find a solution to reoccurring movement of pole wedges on the side plates of their generator rotor, they called IDEAL! Some movement of the wedges over the years is expected due to contraction and expansion. Genuine IDEAL regular service includes pole stud inspection and adjustment to factory torque specification if necessary, ensuring wedge movement is not an ongoing issue. This customer was delighted with our service and impressed to have their repeat issue finally resolved right. That's #IDEAL. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
